We artisans of divina art (the association that organizes ART ADVENT) attach great importance to creativity paired with craftsmanship. Our products are created through ideas and designs and are produced fairly – often using regional resources. This ensures that the entire value chain remains in the country and long transport routes are avoided. Each exhibitor must present himself or herself to an artistic jury that evaluates the craftsmanship and artistic quality of the works and thus maintains the high standards of ART ADVENT.

 

These strict quality requirements also apply to our gastronomy, which has for the past eight years been offering organic products only. It's all about the right mix.

The impressive backdrop of the Karlskirche, the romantic lighting ( with energy-saving LEDs) and the imaginative stilt theatre performances by the groups Soluna Rising and Moving Acts, who inspire both children and adults - the ART ADVENT at Karlsplatz is one of the most popular markets in Vienna for a good reason.

 

In addition, visitors can expect a musical spectrum - from Wienerlied to Austro-Pop and Rock and Soul to world music. Bands such as The Untouchables, Mary Jane ́s Soundgarden, the Prohibition Orchestra, Madame Marie or Colupaeo will do the honours at ART ADVENT.

The children will once again enjoy the popular straw landscape to romp around in. They will have plenty of opportunities to be artistically active in the "Star Workshop": whether handicrafts, candle making, or the design of wooden medallions. Afterwards, the kids can take a spin in the "Carousel of Lost and Found" or in the "Draisine Express". After all that " spent energy", everyone can comfortably take a seat on the shopping divan – the ride is taken off your hands!

 

All this creates an incomparable atmosphere that only ART ADVENT can offer.

How does the pattern get on the fabric? How do you make a pompom? What is stencil printing? How can you "glue" two pieces of glass together? How does the turner bring curves into the wood? And how does wool become felted? In the demonstration workshop, these questions are not only answered, but also clearly demonstrated. Many of them even allow you to lend a hand yourself.
