To me photography means passion, joy, creativity, craftsmanship and job. Digital photography is perfectly suited to today's needs and dominates my commercial orders. But for me photography as a craft and art has always been connected with analogue media, in which the creative, experimental and craft aspects fascinate me. I find a deep satisfaction working with some very old techniques. Large scale black and white photography plays an ever more important role, and I have recently expanded by using the wet-plate collodion technique. Unaltered since 1851, it enables one to do the whole photographic process oneself. From the coating of the glass or metal plate up to the magical moment of fixing, when before the eyes of the portrait client, the positive original develops from a negative. These collodion photos are especially seductive with their slight imperfections, which other techniques do not achieve.
