Fashion design

I attended the HBLA (College of Higher Education) for Fashion and Clothing Technology in Herbststraße in Vienna’s 16th district. After graduating I set up my own business as a ladies’ dressmaker.

As a child I spent a lot of time drawing, painting and creating and that’s how my first dresses were made. At that time they were for my dolls.

Quality and sustainability are very important to me. Materials that are of high quality and sustainable are high up on my list of preferences, as are resource-saving processes. Even the smallest of scraps are used in textile applications
on the work.

For many years I have been primarily occupied with knitted felt material (100% wool) with which I make accessories such as caps, headbands, scarves, wrist cuffs, and cacheurs, etc. I design dresses, skirts and coats and produce them in small series.

I work on my creations at my studio at home in Lower Austria. I am inspired by my colourful garden, the wonderful views of nature around me and by various journeys in countries near and far.

Over the years I have learnt to match form and colour to harmonise with particular types of customers. Thus I am able to cater to certain customer’s wishes and create individual variations. I pay special attention to refined cuts and a good fit. In this way unique clothing for each person is achieved, so that they are very happy with the piece for a long time.

You can discover a large selection of my creations to suit special wishes in my online shop www.beatricefaye.com
